Procedures and policies for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities
Planning Forum and IQAC ensure optimum utilization and monitor infrastructure development in tune with the requirements. Latest academic facilities and equipments are made available in the college. Suggestions for improvement are proposed by the IQAC and same is discussed with the Planning Forum. Once the proposals are accepted by the Principal’s office, a quotation for the same is invited. After the approval of management the equipment’s are purchased and the same is entered in the stock register of the concerned department and the college.
♦ Up-to-date monitoring and supervision of the academic and infrastructural facilitates of the college is ensured.
♦ There are different committees and clubs working in the institution to ensure the maintenance of infrastructure
♦ Classrooms are allocated based on the academic schedule and general time table.
♦ Auditoriums and conference halls are available to department level programmes on a priority basis. Separate staff is in charge of the auditorium and other room allocations.
♦ Computer labs and internet facilities are made freely accessible to staff and students.
♦ Central power back-up facility is available for the optimum use of facilities. This is maintained and kept intact to avoid power failure issues.
♦ Staff and students utilize the facilities at the Gymnasium.
♦ Separate libraries in the departments are also provided to have an easy reference to the subject related books and journals. The department coordinators are held responsible for the same.
♦ Laboratories are allocated to different batches based on a predetermined schedule. Laboratory equipments are maintained by the technical staff of the concerned department or by contract. This responsibility is entrusted to the concerned Head of the Department.
♦ Play ground is given to public and sister institutions for sports/games and tournaments.
♦ Classrooms are given for conducting examinations to University, banks, PSC, etc. These processed will be monitored and managed by the principal’s office and faculties in charge.
♦ Audio-visual equipment is given to sister institutions for seminars and workshops free of cost.
♦ Computer courses, Workshops and training programmes are conducted by the college to students, staff, faculties and public.
Library facilities are given to public and outside students for reference. The stock register is maintained and updated by the librarian and other staff members in the library. Working hours of the library is 9.30am to 4.30 pm. Semi-automated library software is installed in the library to facilitate stock control.
♦ Maintenance and repair of the infrastructure, especially building and land is outsourced. For computers and internet, both AMC and local contractors are entrusted, depending on the urgency of the work.
♦ Electricity, water, generator, and other amenities are maintained by the technical staff. Technical staff and laboratory staff of the Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology departments are trained for lab maintenance, repair and service.
Purifiers are installed in the college which is regularly monitored and maintained by the AMC.
♦ Security guards are entrusted to ensure a round the clock security of the institution. Security guards are outsourced for this purpose.
