Department Profile

The self financing course in BSc Microbiology was started in the year 2002 in compliance to the policy initiative taken by the government as a policy of education opening the windows of self financing structure in private aided institutions as a mark of radical shift in the education policies of earlier precedent.Hence new courses focusing on vocational stream education rather than the conventional streams became the highlight of the new education policy of the government. It is appreciating to note that Sree Sankara Institution that set its motto of socio economic upliftment of the divine land of Kalady did not lie behind in setting this new structure of education with refined motive.

Eligibility for Admission

Pass in plus two or equivalent with Biology as a subject or vocational higher secondary in any biological/ paramedical /agricultural/ related branch.

Duration of Course

The duration of U.G programme in Microbiology shall be 6 semesters.There shall be 2 semesters in an academic year, the Odd semester commences in June and on completion , the Even semester commences after a semester break  of two months vacation during April and May.
