Admissions 2024-25

Admission to all programmes offered by the institution is as per the norms of Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. Eligibility Criteria is also as per university norms. Admission / Allotment of seats under merit quota/community /PD /sports /cultural quota is governed by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). The dates for admission / interview through CAP are notified in the University Website

Applicants must appear at the college for admission on the university-allotted date along with their parents or guardians. They must bring all the necessary documents for the admission process (which is listed below). Upon selection, tuition fees, caution money, and other fees should be paid at the college office.

For admission to Management Quota

The application forms can be obtained from the college office. Applicants should submit separate application forms for self-financing courses
Only those applicants who have applied through CAP are eligible to apply for management quota.
The application number obtained from the university should be specified in the application form provided by the college.
The application form duly and legibly filled in by the applicant should be submitted to the college office on or before the last date notified by the University.
Incomplete or illegible application is liable to be rejected. Marks secured by the applicant at the qualifying examination should be carefully entered in the application form in the space provided.
The date & time of interview shall be notified in college notice board & college website.
Applicants will have to present themselves for interview along with their Parents/guardians with necessary documents

1. The Allotment Memo (received online)- 2 copies - For CAP

2. Form given from college - duly filled - For NON – CAP(Management/sports/cultural/PD)

3. Mark list (Eligible for Higher Studies)- original and 2 copies

4. T.C (from last attended institution)

5. Conduct certificate (6 months validity)

6. Photocopy of SSLC – 2 copies

7. Photo - 3 nos

8. Caste Certificate - Under Reservation Quota Candidates (Validity 3 years)

9. Income Certificate - Income below 1 Lakh (Validity 1 year)

10. Non-Creamy layer certificate Or Caste & Income certificate - SEBC/OEC Candidates (Validity 1 year)

11. Income and Assets certificate - Under EWS Category (Validity 1 year)

12. PH certificate (from medical board) - Under PH Quota candidates (validity 5 years)

13. Eligibility certificate from MG University for UG admission - For students who studied other than Kerala plus two and CBSE/ISCE

14. Equivalency certificate from MG University for PG admission- For Students who studied universities/institutions outside the state and the country

15. Eligibility certificate from MG University for PG admission- For Students who studied outside MG University

16. Migration certificate - For CBSE and students who studied outside MG university

17. Cancellation certificate - UG/PG course already undergoing

Mahatma Gandhi University-Under Graduate Programme (MGU-UGP)

The newly introduced Mahatma Gandhi University-Under Graduate Programme (MGU-UGP) shall have three broad pathways:

(a) a 3-year UG degree;

(b) a 4-year UG degree (honours); and

The major highlights are

· Program Pathway: Students can choose major-minor options with different complementary or allied disciplines from sciences, humanities, and arts.

Switch Majors: Students can change majors after the second semester to any one of the following disciplines

• 1. to any minor discipline studied

• 2. to any multi-disciplinary course (MDC) (a course they took in the first two semesters but did not study in their +2).

· Summer Internship: Students should complete an internship or lab training after the fourth semester.

· 3-Year UG Degree: Students can exit with 133 credits for a UG degree and join for a 2-year PG program if they wish.

· 4-Year UG Degree: Students can complete 177 credits, including 8-credit project, for honours degree, gain eligibility to write the NET and also complete the PG in one year.

· 4-Year UG Honours with Research: For students who attain a minimum of 75% in graduation (up to the VI semester). They can acquire 177 credits, including a 12-credit research project for the honours with research degree programme, and can get admission directly to the PhD programme. Honours with research degree programmes are offered by departments with at least two PhD faculty members. Students spend the fourth year with a mentor.
