Four Day Premarital Counselling Course for the minority students of Sree Sankara College on 17,18 and 21 December 2021 and 7 January 2022

The Minority Cell and IQAC of Sree Sankara College is organizing a four day Premarital Counselling Course for the minority students of the college in collaboration with Coaching Center for Minority Youth, Mattanchery working under Directorate of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala on 17, 18, & 21 December 2021 and 7 January 2022.
The course covers a well-structured syllabus containing 8 modules prepared by the sociology department of Calicut University and the psychology department of Loyola College, Thiruvananthapuram. Preparations ahead of married life, ethical and legal issues in married life, educational and job prospects after marriage, among other things, form part of the counselling programme. The government implemented this counselling programme in 2008 to reduce the rate of divorces among young generation and their aversion towards traditional system of marriage. Proper pre-marital counselling could help in avoiding many problems in the family and setting up strong and healthy relations in married life in the future.
