Department Profile

The Department of Botany, Sree Sankara College, Kalady was established in 1965 with Prof. V. Santha Bai as Head of the Department. Our Department is offering Under Graduate programme for the students. The Department has four teaching faculties and one lab assistant. Our department has well maintained laboratory with diverse plant specimens and herbarium collection. We are maintaining a Botanical garden with a variety of plants and also a herbal garden with rare medicinal plants. We provide both theoretical and practical sessions for the students. The Department also conducts field trips and lab visits as part of the curriculum
