Aim of the Program

The programme aims to provide an integrated knowledge of diverse disciplines and training on various theoretical and applied aspects of environmental science and management. The course content keeps abreast with the latest developments in the area of study. The students have to do a full time institutional or industrial training/ project work for three to four months, enabling them to have valuable hands on experience in the real world.

The theory, practical, project work and training activities of this programme pave the students to acquire knowledge, skill and expertise on specified subjects along with the integrated knowledge of all relevant disciplines. This provides them to have theoretical and professional competency in planning, decision making and execution of any activity in the field of environment management with the primary aim of sustainable development. The students of this programme equip themselves to fit for a wide range of opportunities available in research institutions, public and private organizations/ industries, NGO’s and consultancy firms in areas of environmental analysis, resource management, environmental planning, pollution monitoring and control, environmental biotechnology, environmental toxicology, waste and hazard management, EIA, EMS, conservation of nature and bio-resources, remote sensing, GIS, forest and wildlife management, etc., and also for research in various disciplines of environmental science.

Eligibility for Admissions

B.Sc Degree in any one of (Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/Physics/EnvironmentalScience/EnvironmentManagement/Microbiology /Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry/any branch of Life Science/Geology/Geography) or an equivalent examination or an engineering degree in Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/ Environmental branch with an aggregate of 55% marks in the optional

PG Department of Environment Science and Management is a multidisciplinary course commenced on Aug 2005 under the affiliation of Mahatma Gandhi University.We have successfully completed 16 batches of students. Many of our students have completed their PhD programs, Mphil and many of them are placed in esteemed institutions.Our department is committed to produce professionally qualified students in their area of interests. We have started an ongoing series of seminars and classes for the betterment of our students. Faculties from National level and International institutions are rendering classes on different aspects and subjects of utmost importance. Being a multidisciplinary course our students has to take part in number of field activities, industrial visits,micro and macro projects during their curriculum.
