One day National Seminar on Kerala's Experience of participatory Planning and Development 2022-23



 A one-day national seminar was held on 15th December 2022, on the topic “Kerala’s experience of Participatory Planning and Development”. The event was organised by the Department of Economics, Sree Sankara college Kalady, which was sponsored by  Institute of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Kerala.  Dr.. P Geetha welcome the gathering, Dr. Preethi Nair Principal Sree Sankara College, Kalady preside the meeting, Dr. Biju Thomas IQAC member felicitate the seminar. The inauguration and keynote address was done by Dr.Joy Elamon.  He was National Resource Person of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj for decentralised participatory planning by Panchayats (GPDP), Key trainer for SDGs and Local Governments. His session was based on the topic participatory planning and development. The first technical session was based on the topic “Participatory Planning and Local Economic Development. The session was handled by P K Raveendran, retired prof. of chemistry and finally Deputy Director of Collegiate Education Department.Second technical session was on the topic 25 Years of Decentralization in Kerala: A review of the fiscal aspects. . Resource person for this session was Mr. Emmanuel Thomas, Assistant Professor, St. Thomas College, Thrissur. This seminar created a platform for teachers, students, and research scholars to engage in active discussions and share their views and observations on this.
