BUTTERFLY GARDEN IN THE COLLEGE CAMPUS





Situating at the foot of the Westernghats,( Malayatoor forest range) & partonized by Periyar river  wetland regions, Sree Sankara college has an immense butterfly diversity. Being an ecological indicator species and pollinator butterflies are one of the most important creatures to be protected on the face of Mother Earth. The Department of Environment Science and Management has started an ongoing assylum for the butterflies in and around the campus. Our butterfly garden is planted by both larval host plants & nector host plants of butterflies. We make sure to keep the diversity of the plants as high as possible. The whole department participate in the healthy functioning of the garden.
