BIOGEN 2020 SERIES I



An international webinar series BIOGEN-2020-21 SERIES I on a theme "Surviving the pandemic: A diseases tolerance perspective" was jointly organized by the Department of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of our college from 7-22 September 2020. The webinar was supported by SMART Scheme 2020-21. Thes eries was conducted online in Microsoft Teams platform. The series included a total of 5 technical sessions. The academicians, teachers, research scholars and students from various college were actively participated in the e-conference. The talks in the series provided an overview of surveillance strategies that should be considered as a part of comprehensive global control for newly emerging diseases. The venture supported and helped the vulnerable student population to mitigate the overall global mental health burden associated with this period of extraordinary disruption and uncertainty. The content included in the webinar explained the scope of plasma therapy in combating pandemics with resilience and also provided a platform for the exchange of scientific information, discussion, & interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers active in the field of emerging disease research globally. Dr. Mohan Isaac (MD, DPM, FRCPsych, FRANZCP, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia), Dr. Unnikrishnan Sivan (Postdoctoral Researcher, Kennedy Institute of  Rheumatology, University of Oxford), Dr. Kathiresan Natarajan (NIH Fellow, Physiology and Biomedical Engineering,  Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA), Dr. Padmapriya B Banada  (Assistant Professor and Team lead, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, USA) and Dr. V. Stalin Raj (Associate Professor, IISER, Trivandrum, Kerala, India) were the resource persons of BIOGEN-2020-21 series I
