NATIONAL SEMINAR ON 'PARADIGM SHIFT IN THE INDIAN FINANCIAL SYSTEM'



REPORT ON TWO DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ON “PARADIGM SHIFT IN THE INDIAN FINANCIAL SYSTEM” The Post Graduate Department of Commerce at Sankara College, Kalady, in association with Mahatma Gandhi University and IQAC of the college, organized a two-day national seminar on 27th and 28th January 2023. The theme of the seminar was “Paradigm Shift in the Indian Financial System”. The seminar was held in a hybrid mode, with both online and offline participation. The seminar was aimed at exploring ideas in the four major elements of the Indian financial system, including banking, accounting, taxation, stock market, and behavioural finance. Programme Overview:  The seminar had four academic sessions, with each session focused on one of the major elements of the Indian financial system. The experts in each area were invited to handle the sessions. The first session was on banking, where the speakers talked about the recent changes and challenges in the Indian banking sector. The second session was on accounting, where the experts discussed the recent developments in accounting practices and their impact on the Indian financial system. The third session was on taxation, where the speakers discussed the latest changes in tax policies and their implications on the Indian financial system. The fourth and final session was on the stock market and behavioural finance, where the speakers talked about the trends and challenges in the Indian stock market and the role of behavioural finance in the Indian financial system. The seminar concluded with research paper presentations. There were Twelve presentations, and each presentation was based on recent areas of commerce. The presentations covered a wide range of topics, including banking, accounting, taxation, and stock market trends. Target Audience:  The seminar aimed to cater to the needs of academicians, research scholars, and post-graduate students across the country. The target audience for the seminar was 52 participants, and the programme was designed to provide them with a platform to exchange ideas and insights on the Indian financial system.
