As part of the academic curriculum, the Department of Biotechnology organized an industrial visit to Kerala Agricultural University on 25 July 2025 for third and fifth semester students. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, while providing exposure to modern research techniques in biotechnology.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore various specialized laboratories and research units, including Plant Pathology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Microbiology, Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Molecular Biology (CPBMB), and the Cocoa Research Station. The sessions offered valuable insights into ongoing research activities, advanced laboratory methodologies, and the application of biotechnology in agriculture and allied fields.
The visit proved to be highly enriching, enabling students to translate textbook concepts into practical understanding. It fostered scientific curiosity, encouraged teamwork, and provided a deeper appreciation of research and innovation in biotechnology.
