Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on Research Methodology for Faculty of Social Sciences, Commerce and Management (05–09 January 2026) Organized by the Research and Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Sree Sankara College, Kalady in Collaboration with KSHEC and DSW, Mahatma Gandhi University

The Research and Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, in association with the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) and the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), Mahatma Gandhi University, organized a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Research Methodology for Faculty of Social Sciences, Commerce and Management” from 05 to 09 January 2026 in hybrid mode. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Biju T., Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, University of Kerala, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anilkumar M., Principal, Sree Sankara College, Kalady, and Smt. S. Gowri Antherjanam, Head, Research and Post Graduate Department of Commerce.
The FDP was designed to strengthen the research competencies of faculty members through intensive sessions on research design, problem formulation, literature review, sampling techniques, quantitative and qualitative research methods, statistical analysis, mixed-methods research, publication ethics, and academic writing. The programme featured expert sessions by Dr. Biju T., Dr. Rameshbabu Tamarana, Assistant Professor, Central University of Karnataka; Dr. Renjini D., Associate Professor, School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology; and Dr. P. K. Suresh Kumar, Librarian, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies. The sessions provided practical exposure to research tools such as SPSS and NVivo, advanced analytical techniques, bibliometric analysis, plagiarism detection, citation management tools, and the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in research.
The valedictory function was presided over by Smt. S. Gowri Antherjanam, with the valedictory address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Anilkumar M. Participants expressed high levels of satisfaction with the programme, particularly appreciating its balanced coverage of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, hands-on training, and guidance on research ethics and scholarly publishing. The programme successfully enhanced participants’ research capabilities and reinforced the institution’s commitment to fostering a vibrant research culture and academic excellence.
