Study trip to Iringolkavu, Perumbavoor

 

Post Graduate Department of Environment Science and Management conducted a study trip to

Iringolkavu, Perumbavoor as part of June 5th World Environment Day 2024. 15 students and 3

faculties from the department took part in the program. Students collected plastic wastes from

the inner regions of Kavu as a part of an Eco restoration activity. Later, students visited the

Nagancherry Mana to understand the archaeological monuments and old vasthu constructions.

Students were enabled to understand the aesthetic values of sacred groves and the need for their

conservation. The field trip also helped them to understand the microclimate system and

various conservation practices undergoing there in the aspect of sacred grove conservation

method.
