DRVC International Conference on Disaster Risk & Vulnerability 2023 was the fifth in the series of International conference on disaster Risk & Vulnerability. The main objective of the conference was to make aware of the student community on Disaster Risk & Vulnerability, along with the various professionals.
The three-day program mainly focuses on the problem identification and its resilience in the area which is facing both anthropogenic and natural causes. DVRC was an important platform for the practitioners from various fields that deal with disasters to come together and to learn from one another. There have been numerous catastrophic events and disasters around the globe, which leads to the post effects of these crises.
Workshops like these help to understand the responses made by each state/ country, the preparedness implemented, the hurdles which has to be faced at the time of each scenario and the decision making and policy making process involved. 14 students and 4 faculties from the department of Environment Science and Management Sree Sankara College participated in the conference. The conference is also a collaborative effort of the School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University and the Department of Geology, University of Kerala.
